Steam Victoria have a comprehensive range of commercial steam cleaning machines suitable for a magnitude of tasks from getting rid of bed bugs to giving your business a deep clean.

What is Dry Vapour Steam and Why does it Clean so well?

Our steam machines produce a very high temperature, high pressure steam known as dry vapour steam. “Dry Vapour” refers to the moisture content of the steam which is only about 5% moisture. this steam is an environmentally sound cleaning tool that also conserves water.

Steam cleaning machines are most effective at cleaning in a multitude of commercial situations. A steam cleaner is not limited to indoor use; Chewing Gum removal is a simple task using this exciting cleaning technology.

Steam Vapour is one of the most natural cleansing products available today.

Who Uses Dry Vapour to clean?

Many Commercial cleaning companies, as well as businesses who clean their own premises, use Dry Vapour Steam Machines and are discovering the magnificent cleaning job dry steam is capable of producing.

The results of using steam is always far more superior to the old mop and bucket, where dirt is dragged into the nooks and corners, or spray methods where commercial cleaning products mixed with chemicals are used. Commercial steam equipment can be used throughout most areas in the hospitality industry – including Restaurants, Hospitals, Supermarkets, Bakeries, Hotels, Motels, fast food chains and more.

If you would like to read how good this technology is, see the article Commercial Products vs. Dry Vapour Steam Cleaning.

Contract cleaners use steam to gain work and handle difficult tasks which otherwise would not be easy to clean.

Cleansing Grout and Tiles Using Steam

Cleaning Grout and Tiles can be very difficult, and cleansing dirty grout with dry vapor steam makes your tiles and floor grout look sparkling new. Unsealed grout is very porous, consistently and easily soaking in dirt and grime. Dry vapour is able to quickly penetrate the pores of grout, flushing out the grime build-up, without affecting the structure of the grout at all. This makes steam a powerful grout cleaner and can replace some floor cleaning equipment.

By replacing mops and floor cleaning products with a dry vapour steam head for cleaning tiles, you ensure that the dirt and grime on the tiles is not dragged back into the grout lines. Another bonus is that since this floor cleaning technology has a very low moisture content (only 5%) your floors are dry and ready for use almost immediately after cleaning. Tile and grout cleaning is just made so much more easier, efficient and convenient.

Removing the mix of grease and detergent build up in commercial kitchens is another area where dry vapour is most effective. The continuous expenses from floor cleansing supplies will also disappear when you use steam.
It's important to realise that not until you see a grout cleaning machine using vapour, you won't realise how dirty your floors in fact are.

Getting Rid of Bed Bugs

How to get rid of bed bugs and their eggs? Steam... it is the only safe bed bugs treatment as chemicals prescribed for use on bedding do not kill bed bug eggs. Temperatures above 60 degrees kill bed bugs and their eggs instantly. Bed bugs are no match for the power of steam. Using this technology for eradicating and killing bed bugs has now been included in the nationwide Bed Bug Code of Practice. To identify bed bugs visit the University of Sydney Bed Bug site www.bedbug.org.au where you can, here you will find pictures of bed bugs. Councils

Chewing Gum removal is a colossal enterprise, with Chewing Gum litter being a global issue. Discarded Chewing Gum is everywhere – footpaths, school grounds and carpets, hospitals, cinemas, airports, shopping centres and universities. Throughout Australia, Councils are investing in dry vapor technology to help keep the footpaths unstained by removing Chewing Gum (read more about gum below).

HealthCare Cleaning

The healthcare sector is also now using steam to sanitise and clean their facilities such as the hospitals and aged care. Nursing homes are also using dry vapour as a highly effective chemical-free method in sterilizing surfaces and equipment.

Infection control in medical facilities is made significantly easier when the surfaces are sanitized, therefore not harboring harmful pathogens. Dry vapor is able to make quick work of residue found on all types of surfaces – removing allergens while killing mould, fungus, mildew, viruses and many other harmful bacteria such as e-coli.

Contract Cleaning

Increasingly, contract cleaners offering commercial services are finding that including vapor cleaning machines in their service offering creates more business.

There are substantial amount of areas where a contract cleaner can use dry vapor. Some cleaners specialise in Chewing Gum Removal, range hood cleaning or cleansing tile grout. Floor cleaning, with the aim of removing the awful mix of grease and detergent that builds up using conventional methods, is one significant area where vapour steam is most effective.

Kitchens

In a commercial kitchen, dry vapour is not only used for cleaning floors, but also for the walls, grout, range hoods, ovens and fridge seals. When it comes to greasy floors or icy floors, cleansing with steam triumphs over many other methods.

Dry vapour is also the most hygienic cleansing approach, able to sanitise stainless steel bench tops amongst many other things (see Restaurants section below.) In most cases, chemical cleaning products or cleaning supplies other than pure water are not required, however on heavily soiled areas a mild detergent can be injected into the vapour flow by simply just activating a switch on the handle of most commercial steam machine models.

Bathrooms

Cleansing grout and tiles with a vapour cleaning machine makes a bathroom look immaculately clean, almost as new.

Showers, sinks, toilets and walls sparkle and smell fresher than ever before. All these nooks and crannies in a bathroom are great places where steam really comes into its own. It's only through this cleaning technology that environmental housekeeping is made possible.

Chewing Gum Removal

Removing Chewing Gum from footpaths and other types of surfaces is surprisingly simple using steam. Combining our environmentally safe detergent and small detail brush, a hard black spot of gum is dissolved in a matter of seconds and then vacuumed away. It can also be carried out in public areas with very little inconvenience. Using steam to remove Chewing Gum has no negative effects on the surface and results in no water run-off (this is because the equipment uses a maximum of 3 litres of water per hour.) Dry Ice Blasting and many other methods in removing gum can be very much less effective.

Cleaning Restaurants and Food Businesses

Meeting HACCP standards for food safety is important. Safe Food Queensland is the government-run organisation which monitors food safety standards in more than 7000 food businesses in Qld. These businesses should have food safety programs in place that ensure hygiene standards are kept. Local councils also have an environmental health officer which visits a food business periodically to identify food safety issues.

Sanitising and bacteria...

To sanitise...to apply heat and/or chemicals to a surface so that the number of bacteria on the surface is reduced to a level that is safe for food contact.

Most bacteria that can cause food poisoning are killed when exposed to chemical sanitisers, or a heat higher than 77°C. Dry steam is more than double this temperature ensuring a complete kill. Conventional cleansing and sanitising are usually conducted separately, so you are never sure whether a clean surface has actually been correctly sanitised after cleaning.

To clean without sanitising is not an option, as it does not kill bacteria; nor does it meet food safety requirements. Vapour steam, however, is able to clean and sanitise simultaneously- saving you time and ensuring that your workplace is sanitised correctly and is not harbouring any harmful bacteria.

Dry vapour is therefore capable of improving both the appearance (as it cleans) and hygiene levels (as it sanitises) of both back of house and front of house operations in your food business.

Cars

With water restrictions continuing to be a massive problem in most of Australia, steam is a fantastic way to clean cars both inside and out. The use of vapor, along with a micro fibre cloth, produces amazing results on most surfaces – including car exteriors.

The high temperature of the steam does no damage to the surface of your car (however, you must ensure that the steam nozzle does not touch the paint surface.) 10-20cm away from the surface creates enough moisture to clean the car.

Saving Water

Water wastage is a great a concern in most parts of Australia with Government constantly looking for ways to encourage business to reduce water usage. Please check with us for any government subsidies that you may be entitled to for the purchase of our equipment.

Another benefit of using less water, in comparison with conventional cleansing methods, is that you have less waste water to get rid of after cleaning. Steam Victoria's range of equipment use no more than 3 litres of water per hour.

Training and Support

With every machine sold, Steam Victoria provides comprehensive training and support. A training CD is also available, plus an easy to follow user guide with on-going telephonic support.

If you're not quite sure how to handle a particular cleansing task, simply pick up the phone or send us an email with your issue or question. The friendly and efficient support staff at Steam Australia will be more than happy to assist you in any way possible.

Carpet Cleaning

A vapour steam cleaner is not a carpet shampooing machine. It will not wet your carpets, and is generally not used for cleaning large carpet areas. Vapour steam is, however, ideal for stain and spot removal, and ideal for Chewing Gum removal from carpets and upholstery. Even in saying that, there are a few contract cleaners that use vapour steam to clean carpets.
